Week 32 - Weekly Report

This week we were short on academics, but long on enrichment. We planted some beans and pumpkins. The girls made a river in the backyard with the hose. We had a great day at co-op. We did some more math from chapter 7 with carrying and borrowing double digits. We did some challenging word problems, and we had a fun at the natural history museum with our friends. There were exhibits about tribes from various areas and a wonderful storyteller told us myths from several tribes.

Spelling was surprising this week. We started R&S spelling this week. I pre-tested CC on the first list and the first test and the last test. She can spell them all. She was excited about her spelling. She didn't know that she could spell so many words. Her description of how she spelled some of them was - she knew she had seen the word many times in her reading and just "looked back into her memory" and saw how it was spelled. It seems that she visualizes the words which is good to know. Now I am debating what to do for spelling next - R&S 3 or something else or nothing.

BB still hasn't heard from the school in Japan, but he has decided to apply to another college. He has changed his mind about what his number two school is. The good news for me is that he is now considering going to the university in town, so he will either be on the other side of town or the other side of the world.

The week went by too fast as usual.
