The Embassy and COE

BB received the long awaited notice today that the Japanese embassy has processed his student visa application.  He also received his first invoice for tuition.  Scary thoughts.
  • Tuition Fee
  • Facility Fee
  • Student Activity Fee
  • Housing Fee
  • Housing Deposit
  • Matriculation Fee
  • I am sure there are other fees.

The student loans were invoiced.  The scholarship was credited.  The prepaid tuition program wasn't billed, but we will deal with that later.  The rest of the money was bank-transfered to Tokyo this afternoon.

Now we are waiting for a Certificate of Eligibility from Japanese immigration that we can take to the nearest Japanese consulate to have his passport stamped.  Once we have the COE, we can buy a one-way ticket to Tokyo for my baby.

We have been working on this since May.  Attending university in Tokyo is getting to be a tangible reality.  COE, passport stamp, plane ticket.  That is all that is left.
