Thoughtful Sunday - If you changed your day

If you changed your day, what would it look like? I might have to change my days, but I'm having trouble picturing them. They will have to become much more structured, but I don't know how to do that. I've been homeschooling since my twenty year old son was in seventh grade. I still haven't been able to follow strictly structured days.

I remember being super organized. Data driven. I know how to take user requirements, document them in a project design , code them into software, produce and execute a test-plan, write end-user documentation and user-acceptance plans. I have trained dozens of adults how to use software that I helped to design then checked off the little check-box in my training plan that it was complete.

None of that has anything to do with raising children or educating them. I supposed I could make training plans for the kids. Maybe even put it into a project plan, "You took 2.3 hours to learn long division instead of 2.2. That will set your graduation back to June 1, 2018 at 6:35 pm." Hmmm. Maybe that is not quite the level of detail I would want.

I don't know the right answer.

I do know that the winds of change are blowing through the Magic Schoolhouse whether we want them to or not.

I have a loose plan of what should be finished at weeks end.

I have always wished to be ultra organized and structured. But... even now, it just isn't the way it goes in my home. I am one for following interests and bunny trails. If we are really into something, I just can't say, " Put that up, it's time for XYZ."

I do with you good luck though !
